3rd Panel Discussion in a Foreign Language - Webinar: “Circumstance and Culture: How does it affect people?”

El pasado 16 de noviembre el Instituto de Lenguas Fray Bernardo de Lugo O.P. y la Facultad de Psicología iniciaron un proceso de articulación, con el fin de cualificar a los distintos integrantes de la comunidad académica tomasina, en la práctica de una segunda lengua. Se llevó a cabo el Conversatorio: “Circumstance and Culture: How does it affect people?”, esta tercera discusión académica está contemplada dentro de la línea de investigación: Psicología, subjetividad e Identidades, inscrita en el Grupo de Investigación de la facultad.

 

Tuvo como principal invitado a Kirsty Robbins, quien es candidata a maestría en ELT en la Universidad de Stirling, en Escocia. Kirsty es estudiosa de la cultura y ha enseñado español e inglés como lengua extranjera en diversos contextos culturales alrededor del mundo. 

Se agradece la participación a todos los asistentes y a los estudiantes interesados.

Organized by the Language Institute Fray Bernardo de Lugo O.P. and the School of Psychology, this event was attended by M.A. candidate Kirsty Robbins, from the University of Stirling (Scotland), who spoke with students and teachers on issues related to culture and socio-cultural evolution.

 Last 16th November, The Language Institute Fray Bernardo de Lugo O.P. and The Psychology School started a process of cooperation to provide academic room in which the Santo Tomas community could take part in a foreign language practice event called: “3rd Panel Discussion in a Foreign Language - Webinar: “Circumstance and Culture: How does it affect people?”. That activity was a strategy aimed at fostering the research line: Psychology, Subjectivity and Identities from the School of Psychology Research group; which is recognized by Colciencias. 

The event was attended by Ms. Kirsty Robbins, from the University of Stirling in Scotland. Ms. Robbins is a Master in Management and English Language Teaching candidate. She has spent the last six years both studying Spanish and teaching English around the world. 

Special thanks are also given to all participants.
